Knowledge of the Trait: Occlumency is the act of shielding ones mind from magical penetration via Legilimency, Veritaserum and depending on the strength of the Occlumens, the Imperius curse.

Why do you want this trait? JT is a rather private person, and is rather cautious of other people. The ability to shield his mind from penetration would be something that he would take interest in, as it would be an assurance to keep his thoughts private.
How will you be using this trait? At first, he'd have to make a conscious effort to maintain his 'mental shield', but as time progressed, he'd be able to do it somewhat effortlessly, as though it came to him naturally.
Strength invites challenge. Challenge incites conflict. And conflict breeds catastrophe.
